Contemporary Water Feature

These clients wanted a sleek contemporary space for entertaining, with a stylish water feature. Three separate rendered walls, each with its own stainless steel water chute create a dramatic backdrop to this garden.

Three standard photinias are each underlit to highlight the foliage. The spacious hardwood deck has ample space for a large table and chairs for eating out, and the contemporary planting consists mainly of grasses and other plants with architectural foliage.

The original brickwork behind the three green walls has been painted over to give contrasting texture and an industrial feel to this minimilistic scheme.

Planting includes:

Christmas Berry ‘Red Robin’ (photinia)

Japanese Sedge ‘Evergold’ (carex hachijoensis)

Wood Spurge (euphorbia amygdaloides)

Zabeliana Cherry Laurel (prunus zabeliana)

Chinese Silver Grass ‘Silberfeder’ (miscanthus sinensis)
